Product Design, 3D Modeling
This desk set is inspired by the technical, supportive design of running shoes, reflecting themes of suspension, stability, and freedom.
The set includes a card holder, pencil holder, tape dispenser, and phone stand, each incorporating elastic cord elements that simulate the sensation of being secured yet unrestricted, much like laces that hold the foot in place while running.
Support Though Suspension
Each piece in the collection explores structural balance, using technical cords to suspend and stabilize everyday items in an unconventional way. The interplay of angles and curves gives the pieces a dynamic aesthetic, creating a sense of motion and balance even while stationary.
The Take-Away
This project allowed me to deepen my prototyping and SolidWorks knowledge, using physics to achieve self-supporting forms with visually interesting structures.
